LRT for Subang Jaya.
The construction of LRT line which is an extension from Kelana Jaya is rapidly taking place. The line is now visible to the public in the form of extra tall pillars which eventually will support the line. It is expected to be operated in a year time.
For the last one year Subang Jaya residents had to endure all the inconveniences due to the construction. Traffic jam is a daily affair for most of them. Even the business suffered as lamented by shop houses owners.
It is a small price to pay for development.

Time to remember our less fortunate friends.
For many years now we manage to provide a small contributions to our former class mates Sdara Sulong and Sdara Ghazali in preparation  to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan (Pic 2-4). This year we also contributed toward the purchase of tombstone  for late sdara Anuar Yatim (Pic 1).

Fivers71 Get Together at Alor Setar.
Class mates from Sekolah Dato' Abdul Razak decided to meet again after 42 years. After brief communications through Facebook, SMS, emails and phone calls 14 of us manage to assemble at this gathering. Some of us have not met since 1971 after doing our SPM at Tanjung Malim so it was quite a reunion. We met for afternoon tea at Sri Malaysia Hotel and adjourned for grand dinner at Ahmad
 Abdullah 's house located at Taman Rakyat.

Except for Yogarajan and Razali all turn up with their spouses and some with their children. It was a memorable evening especially with wonderful host.

Fivers71 get together at Kuala Rompin (ROMPIN2).

8-9 June telah berlalu membawa kenangan manis kepada segelintir warga fivers71 (lihat list) yang hadir di majlis perjumpaan ROMPIN2 yang telah diadakan di Kuala Pontian, Kuala Rompin. Hotel Sri Malaysia telah dipileh sebagai tempat penginapan dan Chalet Peranginan kepunyaan Sdara Mohd Muda sebagai tempat majlis makam malam.

ROMPIN2  walaupun merupakan kali kedua kita mengadakan perjumpaan di lokasi Kuala Rompin maseh  ada kelainan. Bukan sahaja lokasi Chalet Mohd Muda dengan keindahan,  udara nyaman suasana semulajadi merupakan tarikkan tetapi juga hasil tangkapan laut yang memang kena musimnya menghasilkan ikan, ketam, sotong dan udang yang sungguh segar.  Bagi warga Kota dilembah Kelang ini merupakan sesuatu yang unik.

Semangat setiakawan yang sungguh tinggi bukan sahaja di perlihatkan oleh fivers71 malah dikalangan para isteri dan keluarga masing masing  juga kelihatan sungguh mesra sekali. Semoga  kita dipanjangkan umor/rezeki dapat berjumpa lagi dimasa hadapan yang terdekat.

GHAZALI MAT SAH (aka danger man).
My friend is not well. Have been like that for many years now. Recently I visited him at GHKL. He could hardly talk. Most of the time was just staring blankly at me. During our school days in Tanjung Malim he was an active sportsman. He played rugby for the school and was in the team that won MORI cup, the coveted trophy for the national interschool championship. I pray for his recovery.

Medical check up.

To day I had my first medical check up at Putrajaya Hospital. A gentle reminder by the doctor telling me to watch my weight and to exercise regularly. I received two months supply of medicine to keep blood pressure and cholesterol level under control. A small ROI (return of investment) after paying income tax for the last forty years. Thanks God as I was considered ok in other department.

I saw this sketch as I was helping to clear my mrs. office prior to her retirement as lecturer at UiTM after three decades of dedicated service. A happy/sad reminder for close knit buddies who make time for each other. Sad too as one of the lady just pass away early this year after short illness.

Meeting old buddies over lunch.
Seven turn up for this special lunch at Sahara Tent Restaurant, Plaza Shah Alam, Section 9, Shah Alam. Fivers71 first TT post PRU13. I was listening to some personal view on the outcome of the recent general election. Not only I ended with full stomach but was also enriched by full analysis ( uncensored) of the PRU13 result.

When a bet is a bet.

AirAsia famous tag line " everyone can flies "  now is promoting a new tag line " every one can become a stewardess ". Are you serious? Not this bearded guy. The full story below.
Branson (CEO of Virgin) lost his F1 bet to Tony (CEO) AirAsia sometime in 2010. So he had to serve as stewardess on AirAsia. So there he was  but the event was turned into a good cause as more than RM600,000 was collected for charitable home.
