Celebrating my 61st birthday.

Turning 61 on 2nd November2014. I am getting old, age is catching up and money is running out. On the bright side I am getting wiser. What can you say of 'warga mas'. I am a double warga mas. How is that so. First I am above sixty and secondly I was an ex mas (Malaysia Airlines employee).

Since my birthday fall on Sunday we took full advantage of it to celebrate with family dinner at The Marche restaurant located at The Curve, Mutiara Damansara.

I was at the Putrajaya Clinic at Precint 9 today for my routine medical checkup. When I was  queing for registration an elderly person bypassed the line and declared himself as warga mas. I was about to tell him off that he was not the only warga mas in the que. On second thought I tell my self what the heck, few minutes will not make much difference to a retiree like me. Oh! that is being wise when you are 61.

THE DOWNING OF MH-17.



It was suppose to be a routine flight leaving Amsterdam at 1815hr and to reach Kuala Lumpur the next morning at 0610 hr. But it was never to be as it went down somewhere in Ukraine near Russian border. It was a second tragedy to Malaysia as a similar type of aircraft was lost several month ago (MH370).

Initial finding indicate that a surface to air missile was fired at the MH-17 which was cruising at 30,000 feet causing it to crashed somewhere near village known as Grabovo. While the various factions involved in Ukraine civil war accusing of each other my symphaty goes to the 295 victims, the crews and passengers of MH-17.

World Cup 2014.
The greatest show on earth ended on Sunday, 13th of July with Germany as the new World champion in soccer. As they say the ball is round and in a game there is always a winner and a loser.  Congratulation Germany. You are definitely the best.
Before the soccer carnival started I favoured Brazil to win being the host certainly had many  advantageous but I was wrong. In the end the team with better preparation ( and a bit of luck) always win.
I manage to watch most of the matches due to convenient timing of fasting month. Of course being a retiree I have a flexible time. What amaze me is that as world nation we are able to participate in a game (or war) following a set of rule. If only mankind can apply this to other things that we do, the world will be peaceful planet.

VVIP during Sports Day.

 

Sports day at any school is a special occasion for the year. A VVIP would be invited to grace the occasion. I came across this photo which showed a sports day at Sekolah Dato' Abdul Razak, Tanjung Malim was attended by none other than the late Sultan of Perak. He was the grandfather of the current Sultan of Perak. Probably there were not many activities in those days so the late Sultan had the time to travel all the way from Kuala Kangsar to attend the function.

To day such school function is only attended by politician such as the local ADUN or senior official from the Education Ministry. How things has changed over the years.

Sumbangan telah disampaikan oleh Sdara Razali dan saya bagi pehak alumni.

 

Al- Fatihah buat Ghazali Mat Sah.

Pada pagi 2 hb. July 2014 saya telah menerima satu berita sedih ia itu sahabat saya sdara Ghazali Mat Sah telah menghembuskan nafasnya yang terakhir pada 1 hb. July 2014 diantara jam 11-12 malam.
Saya dan sahabat sekelian telah mengikuti perkembangan kesihatan beliau sejak beberapa tahun yang lepas kerana arwah merupakan seorang OKU yang memerlukan bantuan.
Saya dan ahli SDARA (Alumni Sekolah Dato' Abdul Razak) telah sempat menziarahi keluarga arwah bagi menyampaikan bantuan kewangan menguruskan pengkebumian arwah. Arwah telah disemadikan di Tanah Perkuburan Taman Rimba, Pantai Dalam, Kuala Lumpur.
Semoga rohnya dicucuri rahmat dan ditempatkan bersama para syuhadah, solihin dan orang orang yang beriman.

Progress on LRT construction.

All the vertical supporting beam were already in place. Installation of.  horizontal beam to support the track had already started. The horizontal beam were fabricated elsewhere and brought to the site by trailers.
